The Philippines was one of the countries served by the Student Direct Stream, the fast-track study-permit route that Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada closed on 8 November 2024. Filipino applicants now use the standard study-permit stream.
The standard stream asks for proof of first-year tuition plus living costs. For applications made on or after 1 September 2026, a single applicant outside Quebec must show CAD 23,448 for a year of living costs, separate from tuition and travel.
Applications and biometrics in the Philippines are handled at Visa Application Centres in Manila and Cebu. Canada also runs a visa-processing office inside its Embassy in Manila, opened in March 2023, which adds to its processing capacity in the region.
通貨と支払い方法
Paying Canadian tuition from the Philippines is a non-trade current-account transaction under Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas rules, and residents may buy foreign currency from banks for it using a standard application form.
An individual may buy up to US$500,000 (or its equivalent) per day from banks for non-trade purposes such as education without presenting supporting documents; above that, supporting documents are required. Ordinary tuition payments fall well below this, so they can be bought and sent through a bank with the standard form and the bank's own checks.
The Bank of Canada does not publish a daily exchange rate for the Philippine peso, so no official peso-to-Canadian-dollar rate is shown on this page.
エージェントの動向
Study-abroad advisers in the Philippines are represented by a voluntary industry body, the International Education Consultants Alliance of the Philippines (IECAP), which promotes ethical standards and whose members include advisers credentialled as Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultants and by comparable bodies in Australia and New Zealand.
Philippine law licenses agencies that recruit Filipinos for overseas employment through the Department of Migrant Workers, but that regime is confined to overseas work and has no provisions for education agents. There is no dedicated Philippine government licence for study-abroad consultants, so membership of a body such as IECAP is a voluntary standard rather than a government accreditation.
家族が選ぶ都市
In the 2021 census, more than 957,000 people in Canada identified as Filipino, about 2.6 percent of the population. Around three-quarters live in six metropolitan areas: Toronto (29.4 percent of all Filipinos in Canada), Vancouver (14.8 percent), Calgary (9.3 percent), Winnipeg (8.8 percent), Edmonton (8.4 percent) and Montreal (4.2 percent).
The community leans to Ontario (38.0 percent) and Alberta (22.6 percent), and Winnipeg has the highest local concentration, where about one in ten residents is Filipino. Most private schools listed on MapleRank are in Ontario and British Columbia, home to the Toronto and Vancouver communities, while the large Alberta and Manitoba communities sit in provinces with fewer listed schools.
Philippinesからのカナダ留学
Citizens of Philippines need a visitor visa (temporary resident visa) to travel to Canada, and a study permit for any program longer than six months.
Some Philippines citizens who hold a valid United States visa or held a Canadian visa in the past ten years may fly to Canada on an electronic travel authorization instead; check the IRCC entry requirements.
