ビザの取得方法
Nigeria had the Nigeria Student Express, a dedicated fast-track study-permit route that Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada closed, together with the Student Direct Stream, on 8 November 2024. Applications are now processed under the standard study-permit stream.
The standard stream asks for proof of first-year tuition plus living costs and return travel. For applications made on or after 1 September 2026, a single applicant outside Quebec must show CAD 23,448 for a year of living costs, separate from tuition and travel; a Guaranteed Investment Certificate held with a Canadian financial institution is accepted as proof of funds.
Applicants in Nigeria submit documents and give biometrics at a Visa Application Centre run by VFS Global, the Government of Canada's service provider, with centres in Lagos and Abuja.
通貨と支払い方法
Buying foreign currency is regulated by the Central Bank of Nigeria. In 2023 the Central Bank moved to a willing-buyer, willing-seller model and unified the market into a single Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market.
School fees are an eligible foreign-exchange transaction, handled by commercial banks. Payments for services abroad such as tuition are made using Form A, which the Central Bank moved onto an electronic platform (e-Form A) in November 2021, so a family applies through its Nigerian bank to buy Canadian dollars for tuition.
The Bank of Canada does not publish a daily exchange rate for the Nigerian naira, so no official naira-to-Canadian-dollar rate is shown on this page.

In the 2021 census, about 81,000 immigrants living in Canada were born in Nigeria. The largest count is in the Toronto area (about 23,900), the highest of any Canadian metropolitan area.
Alberta and the Prairies hold a large share relative to their size: the Calgary area recorded about 13,300 Nigeria-born immigrants, Winnipeg about 7,500 and Edmonton about 6,000. Statistics Canada also reports that West African immigrants, primarily Nigerian, made up 28.6 percent of Manitoba's Black population in 2021.
These four areas hold close to two-thirds of Nigeria-born immigrants. Most private schools listed on MapleRank are in Ontario and British Columbia, and Ontario contains the Toronto area with the largest Nigerian-born population.
